Pattern one - Taegeuk - IL Jang

Taegeuk Il Jang represents the symbol or “Keon”, one of the 8 divinations signs, Which means Heaven. As the Keon” symbolizes the beginning of creation of all things in the universe. So does this for a new Taekwondo students, it is the beginning of their journey.

Taegeuk EE jang symbolizes the “Tae”, one of the 8 divinations signs. Which signifies the inner firmness and outer softness.

Taegeuk Sam Jang  symbolozes the “Ra”, one of the 8 divinations signs , which represents ” Hot and Bright. This is to encourage the student to harbour a sense of justice and passion for training.

Taegeuk Sa Jang symbolizes the “Jin”, One of the 8 divination signs which represents Thunder meaning great power and dignity. 

Pattern five - Taegeuk Oh Jang

Taegeuk Oh Jang  symbolizes “Son” one of the 8 divinations signs, which represents wind meaning mighty force and calmness.

Taegeuk Yuk Jang symbolizes “Kam” one of the 8 divination signs which means Water, which represents constant flow and softness.

Taegeuk Chil Jang  symbolizes “Kan”, one of the 8 divinations signs, which represents Mountain which shows Slow and Firmness.
